Superpeterbilt Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 My 4 year old daughter wanted her own truck, so I built her a snap kit. I cut the sleeper off and put a stake body from the Ford C600 kit. I shaved the lights and horns, because they will get broken off. I made a heart shaped window in the patch panel (cause she's a girl). The truck will be purple with a pink frame. I threw a Detroit in it because the Cat had been snatched already( she's too young to know any better). I used plastic tanks from a die cast truck I parted out. This is going on her shelf to haul her animals and princesses
slusher Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 That looks great and i like the heart you cut in the cab...
guitarsam326 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) I dont know Terry, that detroits gonna scare the stripes right off that tiger! Seems kinda cruel! Edited June 21, 2015 by guitarsam326
kilrathy10 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Although it's slated for the youngster, it looks pretty cool....I like the way you've got it all laid out.....Very cute with the window and the little figures and such.....I like that stake bed on the back of there.....Gives me some more ideas.....
cowboy rich Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Very cool terry, kind of ironic but tiger in the tank was playing when I saw this, hope she's enjoying the build. Rich
Superpeterbilt Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 Thanks guys. She's very excited, and impatient.
kilrathy10 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Lol....I'm sure she is.....Get ready for that broken wheel that will, inevitably, mysteriously come off, now.....Daddy's Truck Repair needs to be on stand by......
Old Buckaroo Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 That is just Super ! Seeing this gave me the best smile I have had in a long time

I'm more than ready for that JT. We'll see how she does with it. I told her many times " it's not a toy".
Superpeterbilt Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 That is just Super ! Seeing this gave me the best smile I have had in a long time Thanks Sean
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I like this build. The Detroit is the better choice if your daughter is like my kids, they love anything that makes lots of noise. The more noise, the better! Looking forward to seeing this one finished.
Tesla Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 What a great idea for a little girl! I can only imagine how excited… and impatient she must be . Awesome project Terry!
olsbooks Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) I must ditto Sean's comments. It is a rare treat to look at some fantastic work, be able to oooh and ahhh over the workmanship AND get warm fuzzies and a smile on my face. The "WHY" behind any build seems to be seldom told but usually the best part. And we surely could not ask for a much better one than this could we?. And so with that I offer my cheers, throwing flowers at the stage, waving the cigarette lighter, assorted fanfare and an unofficial attaboy.. So will it get "Hello Kitty" or "Strawberry Shortcake" mudflaps?. Would be tickled to try and whip you up some if you want. Peace. Â Edited June 21, 2018 by olsbooks
gatorincebu Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Terry, That is just too cool! I have to ask. Is your daughter helping you on the build? My daughter used to sit next to me and hold some of my tools. And also do other things to help with my builds. A fitting thread for Fathers Day!! Be Well Gator
Superpeterbilt Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Terry, That is just too cool! I have to ask. Is your daughter helping you on the build? My daughter used to sit next to me and hold some of my tools. And also do other things to help with my builds. A fitting thread for Fathers Day!! Be Well Gator Thanks Gator. Shes helping a little, but mostly just watching. Shes not going to let me lax on this job. It should be in paint in the next day or so. Thanks to the rest of you guys also. Jesse, as far as the mudflaps go, she would probably want Dora or Tinkerbell, or Peppa Pig. I dont know how Im gonna pull that off. Im not sure if Im putting any on, bc you know they will get broken off. I cant seem to keep them on when its sitting on a shelf untouched.
Superpeterbilt Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 That's a cool build and you are one great dad Thanks man. I appreciate that.
Superpeterbilt Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Small update. I got some color on the frame and bed. The cab is about to get primed, so I mocked up for a pic.
gatorincebu Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Terry, Looking really nice there. I bet the little one is really excites now that there is some paint on it! Be Well Gator
