Pokey Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) Hey everyone! This is my first post on this forum, looks like a cool place to hang out! This is an old MPC '72 Pontiac Grand Prix. The color is Sunrise Red Pearl lacquer from Testors. The wheels are Pegasus, and the steering wheel is from my parts-box. Edited March 3, 2008 by Pokey
kelson Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Great looking GP pokey, hope to see more of your work in the future! and welcome to the forum!.
george 53 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Dam Dude thats one nice lookin ride, Too bad it's only a model(wouldn't last a minute on the streets of DEEEtroit though!) Really nice job! George53
Darrell Gwinn Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Awesome, it looks almost like the real thing in the third picture. Ive always thought that body style looked tough even though its a big ole boat. lol
Pokey Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 Thanks all! I've always liked these old boats, one of my favorite cars of all time. Now, if I could only find a model of a '71 Buick Riviera!
EaglePassNative Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Very nice model. I am kinda partial to these "Old Boats" too as Dirk calls them. ( If one can run low 12's in the quarter and bury the 140 speedo on a straight stretch of interstate all day long with very little modification, I'll drive an old boat any day ). I happen to have a handful of MPC 69,70,71&72 G.P. models stashed away just hoping I will be able to build one that looks half as nice as yours.
Kenny Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 That is nice. I agree it could be in the "real or model" poll. Very nice job.
RodneyBad Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Just "WOW" Stunning beauty of a boat.(in a good way) Being as big as it is, does look 1:1 Super job.. Love it.

Bainford Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 (edited) Beautiful GP, Pokey. Very clean, and nice style. An interesting kit, too. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these. Nice work. Edited March 6, 2008 by Bainford
Howard Cohen Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 When you build a model car that well and take photos outside in that setting, it looks real! Great build of a great car!
Guest roadkill2525 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Great looking Poncho. Did GM have something against front end styling during the '70s?
Tonioseven Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 (edited) Pokey!! Welcome!! Glad to see ya here!! Edited March 7, 2008 by Tonioseven
OLDERGUY Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Pokey, nice clean build. My dad had one gold with white qtr top, interior. It had the dual gate shifter and I used it alot, but he didn't know it.
