modelercarl Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Whenever my 5 year old granddaughter visits she makes sure to check out my hobby/office room to see what she might be able to talk me out of to take home. She used to ask for one of my built models but after explaining to her several times that they were on display for viewing and I wanted to keep them, they weren't for playing with she has quit asking and now settles for clamps, brushes, spare parts, etc. to take home. I built this Lindberg F-150 Flareside and painted it pink, which is the only color she recognizes, and plan on having it sitting on my workbench when she visits next time. Should be interesting to see her reaction when she sees it and notices her name on the door and when I tell her it is hers to take home. I bought a Lindberg display case for it also.
BIGTRUCK Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Pretty cool of you to do that. My grandson just turned 5 and is happy with a few hot wheels I always have on hand, tried the snap kit once and it was "can you do it " or a cartoon came on. Maybe in a few years I'll again, but until then I'm enjoying the visits, handing out freebies and watching cartoons.
gatorincebu Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 That is really a cool thing to do for her! next time she comes over ask her if she would like to help you. Have hold things ,tools parts or such. Her attention span won't be very long. But in a couple years she will be ready to help you and maybe do her own. I did that with both of my grandkids and they both won Juniors trophy's at model contests.Besides it was a lot of fun and I got to spend some quality time with them. Be Well Gator
