caine440 Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Have a few decals to finish yet on the Landy Dart Swinger so I have been working on this one. Just pulled the tap off the paint so I have some sanding to do to smooth thing out yet.. Thanks for looking.
Force Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Nice work Roger, can't wait to see the finished model.
caine440 Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 I have a couple of different sets of decals. I am going with the new Slixx first and see how they look.
caine440 Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 Well this one is now in the purple pond. I went to work on it and the blue had cracked like crazy over night. Not sure what went wrong as I have used all the paints and primer before with no issues.Oh well, the joys of our chosen hobby.
b-body fan Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Well this one is now in the purple pond. I went to work on it and the blue had cracked like crazy over night. Not sure what went wrong as I have used all the paints and primer before with no issues.Oh well, the joys of our chosen hobby. That stinks every time. Just tossed my Sox & Martin Cuda in the pond myself. It was looking pretty cool and then??? The clear leached some kind of pinkish schmutz out of the blue on the roof. Cest la vie.
AC Norton Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 ........I hate hearing this happens, with the cost of supplies and the headaches thrown in for free, makes some of us wonder why we do this. sure hope round two is a winner for you,,,best,.........the ace...........
caine440 Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Yep, I had to just start anotehr body as the purple pond is not cutting it.Got the fender opening fixed and the body putty work done. Hope to prime it tonight and start the painting this weekend.I am thinking I did not give the first layer time to dry and maybe that caused the top layer of blue to crack.
AC Norton Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Roger, might try Tamiya white primer on this.....let it dry 6-8 hours, then start your 3 color job,,,,i have never had it let me down yet...the ace....
jeffaary Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I never have problems with Model Car World Automotive Finishes paint and Future clear coat.
