.... tried to come up with something to build from the AMT 1978 Monza kit (supposedly it was a Pro Stock, except it had a blower and injectors ) .......... so I just built it as a Sportsman racer from the Texas Panhandle (the "High Plains") .............. box stock AMT kit, Testors Wimbledon White paint, Slixx decals

Although the kit is marketed as a Vega, it is actually a 1978 Monza S Hatchback .......... the Vega nose was different

...just had to jump in once again and say,,,i think over the years these mpc vegas, even though not the best by a long shot.....still build to be a neat little drag car. they have been given such a bad rap thru the years, however seeing one built clean and skillfully, like this one, they are a pleasing and fun piece. all the moaning and groaning will start when the USA 1 pro stocker hits the shelves in a couple of months,,,but I can tell ya,,,they will sell like crazy.....I have this twister white one too, and was going to sell it because of the USA 1 coming out....not now, thanks, after seeing this build.......the ace..........

I just like Vegas. We had one when I was a kid back in the late 70s until the Timing Belt broke. It was sold and went through a transformation much like this one. Old Vegas become someone else's new Drag Cars. Great Work on this one!!!
