DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Sorry to distract your fine build againNo problem, I'm glad to get some info on these engines. Thanks guys.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 The interior is finished. It is not perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied. The dash pad is duck tape. It is not meant to depict the original, but a covering of the original that was often done around here by upholstery shops. It didn't look all that great on the1:1, but was very common. It was the only look that I could be partially satisfied with after several different tries and ideas. I'm wanting to finish this one soon.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Slow progress. Haven't had much bench time. Grill is installed, windshield is in, some foil work done (I hate foil work!!).
guitarsam326 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Lookin good Brian! You made the right choice on the tires!
Superpeterbilt Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Still keepin up the good work Brian. Be careful, that Ford looks taller than the Bighorn behind it!
gatorincebu Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Brian, You did a really nice job on this one. It looks really good! Be Well Gator
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Thanks; Sam, Terry, and Gator. I mocking up the bumper, and trying a different roll bar. Added a few things along. The engine compartment is going to be kind of full.
Lunajammer Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 You've done some cool stuff here Brian and you're really demonstrating your knowledge of the subject. Good stuff.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Thanks; Dave, Mike, and Mark!! Got the bumper mounted, skid plat made and mounted, winch mounted and wired. Imagine meeting this on the highway. I still need to do some plumbing, run exhaust, mount cab and bed, etc.
Maindrian Pace Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I want to shrink myself, climb in to that, and go muddin'.
guitarsam326 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 The ol oil drooler looks good tucked in there Brian! Cant wait to see it finished!
gatorincebu Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 The ol oil drooler looks good tucked in there Brian! Cant wait to see it finished! X's 2, you did one heck of a good job on this build. the truck looks really good. Be Well Gator
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Thanks Mike, Sam and Gator!! I think I've about gotten the engine compartment done. The exhaust has been ran. I made a couple of heat shields for the pipes in the engine compartment. I'm not totally happy with the exhaust, but I'm calling it finished. The firewall was reconfigured and a small dog house was made under the dash. The original heater box was replaced with a small one under the dash.
1930fordpickup Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 When I was a kid one of my dad's fellow coworkers had a Bump side with a Perkins Diesel. It was just a 2x4 though.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) This one is finally under glass under the title "The Skidder". Edited January 21, 2016 by DRIPTROIT 71
