bauercrew Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) hey everyone sorry if i offend any impala lovers out there with this one basically just wanted to show results i got useing the cheap acrylic hobby paints , the procedure that work for me was useing the medium for acrylics ,shot the color,sanded it down with 2400 to get bad spots rectified .after satisfied then i shot about 6 coats of the duplicolor, then sanded clear coat with 3200 ,than wax with turle wax, ( i my self am very happy with results) the rest of car is also all acrylics, the only smell i had to deal with was the duplicolor , but no where near as bad as before with having to clean up with laq thinners or all the other mess, just water cleanup from here on out baby attached is the stuff i am useing and the chrome on side is alcad and of coarse bare metal foil on windows Edited September 13, 2015 by bauercrew personal
horsepower Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Liquitex® has some really nice looking pearl and metallic colors in their line up, and I know they work well in an airbrush, my daughter and I do model horses, and many people into this hobby use these paints.One of theprofessional ones is Brad Leisure's wife Cheryl, she's also one of the best painters in the hobby.
Helper Monkey Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I would have thought the pigment size would have been too large to go through an airbrush without clogging, even when thinned down. What size airbrush are you using.
