Messing around with my '69 cobra jet, I found that filing the edges of the grille round and thinning the upper chrome trim go miles toward giving this mustang a better face.  After thinning the top chrome edges, I tilted the whole grille forward at more of an angle. I know there is a resin fix for this but this was a free modification that really helped IMHO.  I still have yet to install the lights (I'm going to omit the oversized chrome rings), I'm happy to answer any questions. Now if only I could take care of those droopy headlights...  I'd love to hear others opinions, let me know what you think!

Interesting - does seem to look better. I keep hoping the resin fix will be back in stock but no such luck yet. I have a 69 resin Coupe that I am building to match my 1:1 Stang and really do not want to use the stock front end. My real 69 Stang really doesn't look like the kit front end for sure.

Now come up with a fix for the droopy headlights before I get to the mine so I can copy :-)

I have to think that someone/somewhere has done a similar treatment to the Monogram '70 Boss/Boss 429/Mach 1.  The grill has always seemed too far forward and upright and the headlamp buckets are too pronounced.  Now, along with an up to date 289 Cobra, that's a subject due for an overhaul or updating.

Thanks for the replies and opinions! I will try and post a side by side comparo once I get another one of these kits. I almost bought an original AMT '69 fairly cheap on eBay, but I figured I'd try fixing the revell one up first, because the majority of the kit is far superior.  Those headlights are a disaster though...

Sorry for the poor quality, here's a quick picture I just took with my iPad, picture from the kit box is shown with my modified front up above. Hopefully it is good enough to show my changes

In this picture you can really see how much I changed the angle of the grille. Box stock it is almost straight up and down
