Helper Monkey Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Its a Plymouth P12 Special Deluxe. It has the stock inline 6 but they also provide a V8 for a modded version. Does anyone know which motor this is suppose to be? I want to look up reference photos.

Helper Monkey Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Thank you so much. Now I know which direction to start heading in.
Helper Monkey Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) Also I forgot to ask is it a 318, 340 or 360? And does anyone know if there are any engine detail kits available for this engine? I mostly stick to stock but for this one I want to completely build up the motor. would this work? http://www.hobbylinc.com/model-car-garage-2-carb-intake-manifold-w:separate-risers-plastic-model-accessory-kit-1:24-1:25-scale-1009I also assume i could use http://www.hobbylinc.com/model-car-garage-holley-dominator-carburetors-2-metal-cast-plastic-model-accessory-1:24-1:25-scale-901 and http://www.hobbylinc.com/detail-master-carburetor-linkage-hardware-plastic-model-vehicle-accessory-kit-1:24-1:25-scale-2420 with it. I may just stick one 4 barrel on top with an air cleaner. as long as the hood clears. I basically want the thing to be a sleeper. Looks stock but is fast, if it were a real car. Edited September 22, 2015 by Helper Monkey Forgot to add in 340
jeffbrad Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Whatever you want it to be, they're the same externally.
Longbox55 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Also I forgot to ask is it a 318, 340 or 360? would this work? http://www.hobbylinc.com/model-car-garage-2-carb-intake-manifold-w:separate-risers-plastic-model-accessory-kit-1:24-1:25-scale-1009This intake is for a Flathead V8 Ford. I also assume i could use http://www.hobbylinc.com/model-car-garage-holley-dominator-carburetors-2-metal-cast-plastic-model-accessory-1:24-1:25-scale-901 and http://www.hobbylinc.com/detail-master-carburetor-linkage-hardware-plastic-model-vehicle-accessory-kit-1:24-1:25-scale-2420 with it. The carburetor would physically work, though it would not be correct to stock, and is much more carburetor that what the stock engine would ever need. A Carter AFB would be more accurate to stock. The carb linkage kit is universal, it will be perfectly fine.
Tom Geiger Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I was told it was supposed to be a 340. I love the flathead six in this kit. If you have no use for it, I'd be happy to trade you one of those V8s for your flatty!
Dave Van Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I like the kit........we need more like it. Here is my spin.....inspired by the film 'Cool hand Luke'.......
mike 51 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) But where's the girl? Still washing that blue Desoto...the paint's getting thin and she got fat! ps. that car's a year younger than she is... Edited September 22, 2015 by mike 51
Helper Monkey Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Thanks, I am not worried about stock. This build will be something different. So using that would be ok as its suppose to be a upgraded motor.everyone thank you for your replies.
