wayne swayze Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Haven't seen a build up of one of these for ages. Anybody have any to show?
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Hows 'bout a custom speedster cut down from a Tudor?
Foxer Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 A lousy pic from a scanned slide I can't find and 50 years old ..
Bernard Kron Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Love this kit and the overall character of the car. The only one completed thus far uses an aftermarket resin Fordor body shell but is otherwise close to the basic kit: The body shell really lends itself to sectioning and ,chopping. Here are a couple of w.i.p.s exploring this area. First a collaboration with Raul Perez who so far has done the majority of the work. Unusual for me, it's done in a modern style: Just sectioning the car and leaving the the top stock height yields a classic late '50's - early 60's full custom look. Here are couple of pics showing the basic body cuts and the intended result via Photoshop: Edited September 25, 2015 by Bernard Kron
John Goschke Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Love this kit! Have one in progress, but it's not ready for prime time. Meanwhile, here's another survivor. Ebay find, took it apart, polished the original candy red enamel, and reassembled. All the nice white was brush painted over the black plastic by the original builder. Those cool capped headers are only in early issues of the kit. One of my favorites in my collection.
wayne swayze Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Thanks for sharing those old beauties guys! Most of my old model buddies preferred the '40 coupe, but I loved the tudor!
GaryR Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 John Goschke!! Now that's a great 40 sedan! Just right in my book!
