Mark M Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) Hey Guys. Here is my build up of the 1/25 Aoshima original release Mad Max Road Warrior V8 Interceptor. I detailed the interior with a roll bar and clutter per the film. This was the first release so I had to scratch build some stuff. The rear rims were given to me by another Max Fan. I weathered the Car to look like it did in The Road Warrior. I used an air brush, pastels and Tamiya weathering kits.... Edited September 30, 2015 by Mark M
disabled modeler Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Cool...I like it. I always wanted to build the first movie car...loved that thing...
Mark M Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 That's actually from the second film. Here is my first film version...
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Very cool! Ironically, I just finished watching "The Road Warrior" again for the umpteenth time about 15 minutes ago on AMC. Great series of movies! I haven't seen the remake yet, but the Netflix disk is laying in my family room as I speak. I'm a little afraid to watch it. I'm afraid it may be a disappointment without Mel! Steve

Dave Van Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) LONG time fan here too........saw Fury 11 times in the theater!!! I wanted a MM Falcon so bad I built my own long before any resin or plastic. This was a first of a planned series of every version of the var in Mad Max and Warrior......only films at the time. A JoHan Torino and AMT Mustang.....some putty!!! But after this 'before' the MFP got it....I got lazy.......so it was the only Falcon but I did build others. Edited October 1, 2015 by Dave Van
wayne swayze Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Love your weathered version! The windshield is great with the wiper marks in the dust! Makes me want to see the movie yet again!

Steve Great models Mark, I like them both. Steve, you won't be disappointed, Tom Hardy owns this role. I think there is more car chase action in Fury Road than in all three Mel Gibson movies combined.
Helix Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Impressive work on both builds Mark, well done mate !
JTalmage Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Absolutely gorgeous builds!!!! Big Mad Max fan here too!!! I would love to build both movie versions but I wouldn't be able to do them justice like you did!!! Even the new movie is pretty good too! Heck I'm borrowing my buddy's Playstation 4 just to play the new Mad Max game! I'm hooked!!!!!!! I haven't played a video game soo much since grand theft auto 3 came out.... which was like '02 or something!
