Ferrari 250 GTO for the 2015 Cannonball Run Sleeper build. I have a WIP Thread with more building details here.

Ricardo has finally completed his Ferrari 250 GTO after a few all nighters fixing what he had fixed ... something we can all relate to. The car was flown into Boston overnight and registered for MA this morning. It's down I95 to NYC today for the start!

This started appropriately as a glue bomb already sleeping. A story in the main thread told of the rebuilding. Thinks added to replace or upgrade kit parts include an interior welded fuel tank, rear wheels, brass front hood hinge, new intake funnels from ferrules, spark plug and fuel wiring, cooler, Garmin Nav system, iPhone, water bottle, hood strap, rear lights, front signal lights and polished aluminum exhaust tips. Paint is Automotive Red Primer. Many things were distressed using various methods. The replaced bar aluminum driver's door has 4 various paints applied. Windows have BMF "duct tape" applied over cracks.

hahaha .. I noticed how that rim is sticking out after the pics were taken. I knew those Muscle Car wheels would be trouble ... they can't spell CORNER.  :o

Very cool.  It reminds me of the story about the 250GTO that was used by a college mechanic's class as a training vehicle, and was once worthless but now is a $40 million car.

For this CBP we had two options.

1. Take a car that is not normally considered fast. Make it fast without altering its appearance that might let on that it's fast.

or

2. If the car IS normally thought of as fast, it should be in such poor condition/appearance, that no one would give it a second glance.

Frankly I didn't think many folks would choose option 2. And I was right. But I knew the ones that did choose option 2 would be something special. I was right about that too. :)

Looks really cool

That the old monogram kit?

Yes it apparently is. I got it as a glue bomb with some others I needed and it was just perfect for the Cannonball this year.

Nice. I have a decently built one and some other kits going on the trading block soon.

Cool kit, just not my cup of tea. Would need a Boss 429 or something
