Hey Bradley, I would love to use a trunk lid like

that for sure!  But I don't have one, and the '32 has

a more sweeping body line than the '30.

Also '32's are much bigger than Model A's are.

I do thank you for the help though, and the only '29

roadster parts I'm using here are the frame and the

floor panel.  It's very different front end, and the axle

will be about 10 or 12 mm's farther forward.

you can do a open trunk with a z frame and really make it look nice with mabe a plate with some speedholes , nice axle mount and coilovers so when the trunk is open you show off whats there :) maybe put a battery back there .. a nother cool detail to show ?

just idea's ....do it how you like it !!

You're welcome David.

I tweaked a louvered trunk on the Monogram '30.  I added strip to the left and right sides, and trimmed a little off of the front and rear edges.   I have JF '30 body w/ the louvered trunk also, thus my suggestion.

Im looking forward to the rest of your build as Revell will be releasing the '30 the first quarter of 2016 IIRC.

Bradley,  thank you for the info. I would have bet my life on

it that it would not fit good!

If you post a pic for me I would be grateful, I get inspiration

from stuff like that.

I think I can get it to sit a bit lower with some mods that I have

come up with. And I have a thought on the gas tanks that will

take less room in the trunk. I'm thinking 2 bullet tanks and a

battery in the trunk will be a start for that idea.

I also want to mention how pleased I am with the

way the '29 roadster frame fits in the '30 coupe body.

There was quite a bit of hogging out of the body

needed to make it work.   But I wanted that kinda

thing for the skills I need for future resin builds!

Anyway, I think it fits in there pretty darn good!!

Thank you Mark, I have not received a lot of

helpful feedback or comments, don't know if it's

a lame build or something!?!

I have never done a build thread before, and

now I think I know why! But thanks again.

Also thanks to Matt, I hope it meets to your

approval Sir!?!

I wish now that I had gone that route from the start!

My ideas are going that direction for sure. Inside the

trunk would look great with a oil cooler, and a rear end

cooler, plus the battery, etc.

I'm not sure where the modded '30 body is now.  Buried in my stash, not exactly sure where.  I've moved twice in the last 6 yrs.  See if you can find a post by "spex84", he added the louvered trunk also on his '30.

Keep up the good work!

To further elaborate on the louvered '32 trunk lid for future reference...

Below is a chopped and channeled '30 Coupe that I built a couple of years back using Monogram's kit (which your resin body is made from.) It has the '32 5-Window louvered trunk lid adapted to it. The curve of the lid matches perfectly. All that needs to happen to fit it is to add a thin strip of material to the left and right sides then cut about 1/8" off of the bottom edge.

If you're into building hot rods you should have a couple of the '32 5-Window kits in stock. They're a treasure chest of good rod parts!

    Dennis,

That looks excellent for certain!  I wish I had known

about how easy the '32 5window trunk was to fit on

the '30 coupe resin body.

My thoughts are that I had the body lines of the ''33

or '34 coupes in my head. I wish I had a Revell kit

here available, I would have dug around in the box

and seen that as a option.

I have wanted at least one of those for a while now.

Anybody out there looking to do a bit of trading?

Thanks again the the input and help on this!

      Happy Kitbashing to you all,

          David S.

Wow, thanks for sharing that Brad!

Is the one in the bottom photo a build of

yours?  It looks awesome with '32 grill

and shell on it.

I can't find info anywhere on new kits

coming from Round2models or Revell!

I am close to re-thinking the motor choice on

this build now.

Well at a Fleet Farm store in our area I found a

model kit for $15.00, it was the '50 Ford (Trucks)

kit by Revell.

But the most interesting part was the Flathead

motor with Ardun heads and 3 nuts!

Also though, is the fact that I want these heads

and parts for other builds. So I think I'm going to

have to learn how to resin cast small parts.

I have been setting up a hobby room to work in again.

So I have not been working on this build, nor any other

build for that matter!

Now I'm all set up and ready to at least try to do some

work on this one.

But my thoughts are changing on this car, but I'm still

working on these ideas yet. But I will post some new pics

in the next week here.

i am using that same motor inka current project as well. I too liked the heads, so i made molds for future castings. Funny thing about that motor, you may have to create your own oil filter set up, as the kit does not have one out if i recall correctly. Great motor otherwise.

    Hello all,

I'm so happy and some might think it a bit silly.

My hobby room is ready, I have feeling in my hands again,

And most importantly, . . . I have finally decided on my motor

and wheel and tire combo for this build!

The motor is from my "Mod Rod" kit from when I was a much

younger man. It and a few other parts were all that survived

of that build!

The tires and wheels are from the "Surf Woody" kit, I have been

waiting on those parts for a while now.

See you all sooner this time,

       David S.

I hate the fact that I'm the type that keeps wanting

to change my mind on things in my builds.

That being said, I'm happy that I will be sticking

with my choices that I have made! (motor, wheels, etc.)

Since the motor is a RedRam Dodge hemi I was

thinking I should use carbs instead of injectors on

the blower I'm using.

And I had a hard time deciding on the headers also.

After all, on a Hot Rod the headers kinda stand out

on the build big time!

So this is what I have come up with. What do all you

Hot Rod fans think of this stuff?
