We're making one piece at a time but with every one it gets that much closer to completion.  Here's what it looks like with the headlights installed in those open spaces.  Once I set the grill in place permanently the side pieces will fit the slope of the fenders better.

And here's a look at the decals that will go on the hood sides and doors.  They've been created by computer and printed on an ALPS.  I always print more than I need in case one gets messed up.

An update with a few more details added.  Under the headlights are a pair of hi intensity lights that are used for night driving in a woods fire setting.  To the outside of those are the red emergency lights.  The winch is now installed.  The cab interior is finished and the big red box that sits in front of the grill guard is to ward off tree branches from poking holes in the radiator when in the woods.  it also covers the winch for added protection.  Won't be long now and work will start on the body.

Got the shops in full gear today.  Finally got the hood sides completed and a bit more wiring under the hood.  The front bumper is in place along with some skid plates under the front.  Directional lights have been added and the doors and hood have been lettered.  Still to be added are the small centers to the hub of each wheel.  Those brass screws that hold the wheels on will be covered.1_148.thumb.jpg.905be9da78dabc101c23ff341_142.thumb.jpg.c21dce30051d7e96269a55b51_144.thumb.jpg.c8f4b5067648ea0c2fe6394e1_147.thumb.jpg.3c1f57ddea98cdb7e81d4adb

Wow wow it work I love, beautiful, but I wanted to see it with a painting burnt by the Sun. I find to my taste it is too bright. I am anxious to see finish.

The winch cable is bead wire I found at Michael's craft store.  It's real springy so when you wrap it on the spool you have to keep it tight and then superglue it in place.  It does have a realistic look to it.  Better than just plain wire or thread.

After a short layoff on building we were back at it again.  Had to get several more measurements in order to begin the bar work around the truck.  If that front bar looks high and way out front that is how it is on the real truck.  Too much IMHO but that's the way it is.  Water tank is done but I messed up on the hose bin up top and will have to do it over.  It should have gone all the way to the back end of the tank!  Should have studied my pics a little more!

Here is some more progress with the side protection partially completed.  There will be more bars that will run from those at the front of the cab to the upper bar that is out front.  There is also added bar work that extends toward the rear.  I re built the hose basket on top of the tank but have not added the mesh sides yet.  Glue and paint have to dry some and I need to finish re painting the tank.  After that the fuel tank protection and sides under the cab doors will be done.
