landman Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) Nice. I have to learn to do that too, to get away from buying everything. My first attempt never went past the first half of the mold. Edited February 15, 2016 by landman
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Thanks for all the comments!!! Not much more progress this month. Still working out the bugs. The front springs had to be shortened. The H model steering box mounts behind the front axle from the factory, but I mounted the box in front of the axel because of the manifolds on the engine. Foxer Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 That's a cool looking truck, even to this sports car guy. This B.R.B.O. is really pulling up some cool builds, especially all the resin bodies and gear.
Canso65 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Your mock up is looking good Brian.I sure like the look of that Ford Pickup in the background? Is that the AMT kit?
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Your mock up is looking good Brian.I sure like the look of that Ford Pickup in the background? Is that the AMT kit? Thanks Rob! The Ford is the Moebius 71 Ford kit with some modifications. It is in the Light Commercial section in both the Workbench section and Under Glass.Mike: Thanks for the kind words!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 I started working on the floor pan today, so I could be sure about the engine clearance. The resin floor pan was really designed for a curbside model and wasn't completely accurate, not to mention very thick. I thought that it would be better to start over. Here is a picture of the real thing: Here is the resin floor pan compared to the start of the new floor pan. I added some bracing to the underside. The front of the floor pan needed to be angled up as well. And believe it or not, the engine clears!!!
10thumbs Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Good progress Brian. Great too that the engine fits, this saves extra work as you have enough getting this cool rig together with different parts. I like this project.

Petetrucker07 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Very nice work Brian. The floor looks really good. Is that a real rotary telephone I see?
