Ron Hamilton Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 You did a great job on that one. I want to build something close to replica stock with my circa 1963 kit. I have one of the red ones in my stah somewhere, and I can say, nothing fit well. My hat is off to you for how yours turned out. I love that truck.
mustang1989 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Man thanks for the great compliment Ron! Yeah this kit isn't one of those that just put itself together alright. Truth be told, just about every part of the build fought me every inch of the way. lol. I'll be looking for that '63 build of yours.
mustang1989 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) ........and a couple of more views of the interior The excess "slag" carpet material on the sides was cleaned up prior to completion I ended up making the key ring out of a strand of electrical wire and painting it silver... mustang1989 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I'm a humble guy. There were no awards for this one this go round. Got totally shut out by the competition with her. In my defense there was a lot of great competitors at that show but I'm still happy with the outcome. Edited March 1, 2016 by mustang1989
Davewilly Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Sorry to hear that...She is a beauty...But there is always next the next show.....It differently needs to be seen its to good to just sit on your shelf!
Sixties Sam Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Great build with amazing detail! Light bulb filament return spring - genius! Wonderful work!Sam
Maindrian Pace Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Joe, that truck is 100% rock and roll. Models can be overlooked at one show, and wow the crowd at the next....
mustang1989 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 I missed the responses to this due to all I have going on right now but I appreciate each and every one of them. She'll definitely see another show.
mustang1989 Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Alright......... I brought this thing out of hiding from last year. I'm making a couple of tweaks to it for the Model Mania Show in Houston coming up at the end of April. I'm not one that goes to these shows that's just gotta win something but I'm hoping this ol' gal will at least place at the show because once those Foose F-100's hit the market they are gonna steal all thunder in regards to mid 50's F truck rods. This build is kind of sentimental to me in the fact that I failed to fully complete it as a kid. As a result I found myself wanting to build one for the last 25 years due to my failure to complete it so many years ago and for the fact that I just like how these trucks look. I'm not gonna go home bawling my eyes out if she doesn't win anything but it'd be cool to see a kit as old and terrible as this one was take something home.
DumpyDan Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Nicely done, not an easy kit to work with. Can be really frustrating, you did a magnificent job on the Revell kit
DumpyDan Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 Still enjoying this build, I took another look at the detailing under the truck and wow, over the top
darthsideous Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Still enjoying this build, I took another look at the detailing under the truck and wow, over the topagreed, that detai is incredible!

I'll be looking for that '63 build of yours.Believe it or not, with all of the hoopla over the "Foose: truck, and your build. I whipped out the red "90's iteration of this kit tonight. I did a lot of work on the body when this kit came out to improve the fit of the doors and the hood. I may just do a side by side build with the "Foose" truck. I have an idea of how I want to approach this one, sort of a "low buck" rectification with a close to stock body. a hopped up Y Block, and some traditional wheels and tires(15"). I am going to use kit parts, and what I have in the parts box for this one. I am leaning towards Red, but Black is interesting too.

I picked up the Foose truck kit the other day and thought of a modernized "Street Demon" look with it. I usually don't build duplicate builds but I've always liked the lines of these trucks. I do appreciate the vote of confidence in this build Ron. I've got a long ways to go before I can match some of the talent I see on this forum. Edited June 18, 2017 by mustang1989
