IceMan Collections Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Here is something I just started. Quick mock-up and the beginning of the engine work Edited February 10, 2016 by iceman-555
crazyrichard Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 yuuuup .. very very cool ... one of the cars i want to build myself !! one of the wishlist .. love the stance and wheels already !!color idea ??
68shortfleet Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Looking good.Curious, you are building a three window, but the box on your bench is for a five window? Did you re-scribe door lines to use the three window top?
IceMan Collections Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Thanks everyone.Richard - for the color I'm thinking a flat mint green? I'd like a dark purple too. Haven't decided.JC - the wheels come with the repop kit. Tires are from Modelhaus.Jason - the coupe top aligns very well with the body. Comes with the trophy series version of the kit No re-scribing of doors needed.
wayne swayze Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Love '36 Fords ! Chopped is always better ! Yours looks really promising......keep 'er going !
horsepower Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Love it, with a little finishing of the body seams it wouldn't look out of place in the K2 primer and a little dusting of guide coat to look like a project car that was just being driven to work the bugs out before final paint. But I do like your dark purple idea, just for a test do yourself a test spoon in the dark purple with bright lime, both in pearls, you might really like it.
IceMan Collections Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Thank Del. I am planning to work on the seams. This was just the first primer shot for a mockup and to see all the imperfections. Won't use bothe green and purple together. Not for this build. Good idea on the spoons though. Will help me decide. Today was mostly engine work.

IceMan Collections Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Were did you get your distributor fromI have a small bag with a lot of loose one but if I'm not mistaken, it's a Preston distributor.
IceMan Collections Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 More engine work. Wired the distro and added some fuel lines. Here are plenty of pics.
IceMan Collections Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) Thanks Tony. The engine is going through some changes to correct the fuel lines. PB finally uploaded my pics. Here's a bit more.Polished the grille that I'll be using. You can see the difference there of before and after. Painted black behind it so it stands out hopefully. And a few more mock ups now that the paint is close to being done. Edited January 21, 2016 by iceman-555
blunc Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am curious what changes you are making to the fuel lines...I had noted the "non-traditional" fuel system you had installed but didn't say anything since some builders hate "rivets".
AC Norton Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Thanks Tony. The engine is going through some changes to correct the fuel lines. PB finally uploaded my pics. IceMan Collections Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Thanks guys. Mike - going to switch to something more period correct for this. Something like the pic below.
IceMan Collections Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 So went back to the kit grille. Just couldn't get the hood to align with the grille. Added taillights and chassis is ready. I think the height is what I was looking for.
crazyrichard Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 love it !!! paint ...engine ...looks greatmybe n idea for the grille , use the surround from the kit , cut out all the middle untill you only have the outside of the kitgrill , paint that bodycolor and cut the p/e grille to size of the hole and glue that in from behind .. could look awsome ?? just a brainfart ....
