Thanks guys. I felt I had to do a little bit last night, just to change the mood. we have just come back from a two week trip where we visited my wife's dying sister and hung around for almost a week to attend the funeral. Didn't want to drive back and forth, 500 miles one way. I took the opportunity to visit the Hobby House, the oldest hobby house in continuous ownership in the country. Since 1953. He's 82 and still manages it. I don't need to tell you this guy knows his stuff.

Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law Pat.

Where is the Hobby House you went to?

Your rig is really coming along nicely.

Rob

It is on Montreal road in Ottawa.

Chassis is almost done. Parked in the engine shop while I attack the body.

That white thing is the next challenge.

Pat looking really sharp! Now I'm looking forward to see how you go about cutting open the hood and fenders.

Dan, you seem pretty sure I'm going to attempt this are you?

Anyway, I started "erasing" the headlights to use the big A100 type singles. Used both the little sanding block and a burr in the drill press. Gingerly, of course.

Wow , that really eradicated them! Pat what will you be using to replace them with? I have found sourcing headlights to be quite the challenge.

The chassis looks top notch. B)

AITM supplies the singles. I think they're cast from the L700.

Looking good Pat. When I get around to build my next one I'm going to make an attempt at cutting it open and hinge the fenders. I think it would make for a cool display with the fenders turned out and the hood up.

Started on the dash and making  patterns for the windows. Painted the shock absorbers.

All the while I'm trying to figure out how to go about opening the hood and fenders. I have to figure a way to nail the grille to the rad as that is what will hold the swing away fenders. They are hung at the grille. The hood is hung at the cowl. So the grille/fender assembly would be freestanding.

Pat, I agree the radiator/grill has to support the swing out fenders. Here's a picture I found looks like there are some braces from the firewall to the top of the radiator.

The shop redo is far enough along to be able to see the bench again. Finished erasing the head & parking lights. Made up a windshield. that is the part I like the least about those resin cabs, making the windshield.Although  It only took two tries this time.
