Looks great! I like the steel disc rims in the first pictures better. Looking forward to seeing more.

This brings me to a question. I have seen several very nicely done model trucks with spoke wheels on the steering axle and disc or Budd type on the drive axles. This is some thing that I have never seen in person. I have seen plenty of spoke drive and Budd steers on the same truck. I've even converted an R Model Mack from spoke steer to Budd steer that still had spoke drives on it. So my question is: is this more of a western thing, or maybe a northern or even Canadian thing? Where is this set up commonly found?

    Gino, Brian,

Thanks for your input . I am kinda leaning towards the blue resin and the white disk in the front. The Italeri wheels  Can go on another truck.

The way I see it, a tridem is not a flashy rig, but a rugged working truck.  I like the more rugged wheels and tires, especially since this rig would handle serious loads.

Yeah, I would agree the resin wheels and tires look best.

As Michael has said, rough and tough!

Rob

I second this motion.

I am not sure about that. It may just be modelers license. People building what they think looks cool ? I do know that the spoke wheels were called Chicago wobblers ,

For good reason. Hence the newer disk or slotted wheels on the steer axle.

But you pose a very good question . That I do not really have an answer for !! :-))

           Jacobus,

you are right about the wheels from AITM. And that is exactly where I am going to get them.

The ones in the pictures will go back on the other  Snap Pete tridem build , and other projects.

Think big wheels and very rugged heavy duty looking ! lol

Hi Gator, man I feel what you're going through.  Waiting for parts makes my hair more gray.  Sometimes from the States the best is 8 days to Germany.  I have though waited 3 months.  Can we say Customs in Europe?  Yep!  Read we want no US stuff over here.....oh no, that's political.  Sorry guys.

Michael,

Between Homeand Security and Customs in the US and the Postal system over here. Customs have gotten so anal about things. They said a circular saw blade for a Dremel tool was considered a weapon and it couldn't be sent through the mail . I figure I have another two weeks to wait .

This guesstimate is based on past experience. So for right now I am not worried about it getting here.

I may still get something done on the project, but I have some other things on the bench as well.

To all those people that supported me in this project .I thank you. I have decided to withdraw from the B.R.B.O. There are several reasons for this.

One, my planned build does not really fit in to the Class of trucks for the BRBO. Two, Due to poor prior planning and other things. I will take this build in another direction.

Three , I have another tridem build that I am working on. The Snap Pete tridem tractor. Which is part of a three Pete build.

I would like to place an order for the calendar!
