angelo7 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Getting there. Made out of a Revell Aerodyne. Sleeper from a Revell of Germany Kenworth.
Old Buckaroo Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 One of my most favorite trucks of all time. Wow , you have done a really fantastic job on this and that color match looks right on.
BigBad Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) This is looking good! I know you used the sleeper cab from the RoG, it looks like you also used the cab from the RoG kit, am I right? Still impressed with what can be done with those snap kits! Edited January 9, 2016 by BigBad
angelo7 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 I know you used the sleeper cab from the RoG, it looks like you also used the cab from the RoG kit, am I right? Thanks guys!! Everything is from the Revell Of America Aerodyne, except the sleeper. I just patched the back of the cab. The sleeper fits perfectly on the frame base with only a minor cut on the floor.

Looks like you used the kits 3406, too.

Suspension and engine are stock. It's not completely accurate but close enough. Edited January 10, 2016 by angelo7
gatorincebu Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Angelo, That one is looking really good about now! Looking forward to seeing up on its wheels and tires. Be Well Gator
Jim B Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 If I'm not mistaken (and I probably am) one of the trucks used in the filming is still running in Wyoming. It was repowered, stretched, and had the torsion bar suspension replaced by the 8-bag air ride. What green is that? It looks just about perfect.

It's actually a flat green. Followed by three coats of Testors High Gloss Clear. Maybe this is the one you are talking about. The plate on the battery cover says" WI". highway Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Nice work Angel. Jim, the one that Angel posted the pic of is Paul Sagehorn's. Here is a pic I have of it I found online. I looked to see if I could find the bookmark I had to his site documenting the rebuild of not only this, but one of the original "BJ and the Bear" trucks as well, but I can't find it at the moment, but I did have this saved from his site when it was redone with the 8 bag suspension. And, who's up for two wonderful TV icons in one pic!?!?!? IIRC, the "BJ and the Bear" truck was found by Paul in GA, and this was another pic from his site when he went to pick it up. EDIT: I just noticed in the pic of the suspension, it is NOT an 8 bag, but a standard four bag setup! Edited January 16, 2016 by highway
highway Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 And I just found the website with the rebuild of both trucks:http://www.tvtruckin.com/index.html
Force Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) The Sagehorn Movin' On truck has a Peterbilt Air Leaf suspension as far as I can tell, it would originally have had torison bars. Edited January 16, 2016 by Force
angelo7 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 It's a great website. That's one of the sites I used for reference. BJ and The Bear is my next project by the way. I have the kit and decals.
