Cut the guy a little slack.... usually when a Camaro owner can scrape up 150k, he spends it on spicing up his meth lab, not the car.

I surely don't see $150,000 there. I don't mind an old primered car or a little bit of patina as they call it. But this car isn't a rat rod. He just ruined a new car in my opinion.  Ken

I don't get the whole artificially distressing thing. Why not just wrap it like they did with the General Maintenance?

As Forest Gump said stupid is a stupid does. Yeah this guy gets attention however its not positive. Me Id rather do something creative to get attention.

I cant admit to being a "rat rod" fan , but this just seems way off the "rat" mark. it looks more like a hop up shop got lazy when the paint guy quit his job...

I don't understand the whole "rat" look thing. A few years ago, it was super trendy in the VW community to take your Jetta or GTI hood and rust it up. Leave the rest of the car, but rust the hood. Wha?!

Making something look old? I just don't get it. I hate it on guitars too. Fender and many other manufactuers offer relic'd guitars. New guitars that are pre-beat for you. Forget that. Every dent and ding and scratch on the guitar tells a story. Write your own stories, don;t buy one from a factory.

 

Now having said that, I do like a patina. People that take an old truck or and old car, hot rod it, restomod it, but leave the patina.

Personally, I think you could just park a new Camaro in a bad neighbourhood.  I guess it's the same mindset that paid premium prices for faded and distressed jeans.
