Chuck Most Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 This was supposed to have been a quick slump-buster. That was back in 2012. Around the time I started it, I got the news that my father had had a stroke and was going in for open heart surgery. So... that kind of killed that idea. My father made a full recovery (or at least as full as you can make after two strokes), but even so, every time I tried to work on this thing it kinda took me back to that period of time. So to say the least, getting the car finished wasn't a priority. A while back I started working on a J30, and that finally got me motivated to finally finish the Q. So, what was meant to have been a quick project four years ago ended up being my first completion of 2016. I may add a few other doodads and touch ups here and there later on, but I'm calling it done for now. The shocking thing is that, even after all of this time, I still remembered more or less everything I originally had in mind to do with it! Which is all the more amazing, seeing as how I'm the kind of guy who will get off the couch and walk to the dining room, only to forget why I went out there in the first place, all in the space of about 20 seconds. All told, I'd say the model has a total of about a week's worth of evenings into it total. Just spread out over a few years. Anyway...
Tonioseven Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Cooler than the other side of the pillow!!
bbowser Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I'm almost embarrassed because I like it! What he said! I don't get the exhaust pipes however?
iamsuperdan Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Google Bozuko cars. Those wacky Japanese love this kind of stuff. Should see the outrageous body kits they make for their cars.
Jonathan Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Crazy! I like it. I hope your Dad is doing well.
MGL Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I'm not in love with this style but you did a great job with it, nice to see it finely finished. With the retro paint job I wonder how it would look with the mirrors on top of the fenders?
