misterNNL Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 We take short(2-3 day)trips all the time as we are retired. Most of those involve visits to area casions with attached lodging.I prefer to not gamble so I take along my mobile model works shop in a brief case to create something in scale while she plays the slots. While I don't attempt anything like painting,I do some fab and body work while there. That works for us quite well.We still spend plenty of time togeather but a few hours doing what we each enjoy is nice as well.
Jantrix Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 This is back on the bench. The bed is now cemented in place and the interior has been cut to fit. I will get some pics up tonight.
Tom Geiger Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 First time I'm seeing this, love the project Rob... Here's one need to get back to! Sorta same idea, Chevy GM stablemate. Mine is supposed to be a sedan crudely cut down to make the camper. Note I kept the signature rear fenders also.
Deathgoblin Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 This is looking great so far! Keep up the good work.
Jantrix Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 Updated. The bed is now permanently mated to the body. Still some sanding to do. I had to fill a small gap on one bedside with some CA. Plans are for rootbeer brown and a real wood bed. I have done the mods to lower the rear suspension by 3mm. First I cut the control arms away from the rear axle. Shortened the coil springs and added blocks beneath the control arms so that everything mounts together properly. I then cut away the rear crossmember and added a new higher one. Interior has been shortened. It will be beige with leopard skin seat and door inserts. More soon.
