Ace-Garageguy Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Here's Johnny... http://www.livescience.com/51664-stephen-hawking-elon-musk-ai-weapons.html But REALLY, robots just want to have fun... ...and drive cool cars... Edited January 22, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy
disabled modeler Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 COOL... I always thought it might be cool and fun to build some of those.
Scott Colmer Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I've seen the interviews with Hawkings about the dangers of AI weapons. He throws alien attack in there too. Pretty interesting. I would add invisibility cloaking to that list. Yes, it would be cool, but I still can't think of one peaceful application for invisibility.
JTalmage Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 With this one single picture I wish we could just go back to the 50's and stay there.

Atmobil Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 With this one single picture I wish we could just go back to the 50's and stay there. You should read 11/22/63 by Stephen King.
Can-Con Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 You should read 11/22/63 by Stephen King. If he has Hulu and can wait till the middle of next month he can watch the 8 part miniserise.
Atmobil Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 The only filmversion of a Stephen King book that has ever been really good is The Shining, the book is always a lot better and if one is like me one gets so drawn in to the book that one finds it difficult to put the book aside. I read it in less than two weeks and that is a 800 page book. I usually will spend about 1-2 months on a book that is halft that size
LDO Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Robby was also in an episode of The Twilight Zone. He replaced the CEO of a manufacturing company. The CEO was played by....umm...the guy who played Rob Petrie's boss, Mel, in The Dick Van Dyke Show. The CEO had replaced all the factory workers with robots, and now it was his turn. He had a habit of twirling his pocket watch on its chain...and so did his robot replacement.
unclescott58 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 By the way, in the photo above with Robby and the LeSabre, what is Robby doing to the LeSabre? He has the hood open. Should Harley Earl be worry the next time he drives it? Or is Robby hopping it up, so it can go as fast as vehicle he drove in the Forbidden Planet?Do anybody know the story behind this photo? And are there others?
