Harry Joy Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Since I got back into modeling in 2000, I've been wanting to build this. It is Dad's favorite car, and his brother owned one back then. The color was hard to pin down, especially 16 years ago, when Chevy paint chips were not everywhere online. I eventually figured out the color and mixed it up for the build with Tamiya acrylics.
D. Battista Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Very nice build...Neat and clean.... Nice job...!
espo Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Very nice build. It is always fun to replicate a car you or a friend had. Brings back good memories.

Harry Joy Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Thanks guys. It was not an easy kit to find. A friend online gave this kit to me many years ago, and I've wanted to build it for ages. I used the wrong tail lights. I did not realize they were keyed top to bottom, and painted them is reverse. I may strip them and correct them someday. This is a pic of my dad (waving), and his brother in his Bel Air: Edited February 1, 2016 by Harry Joy

louie Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Absolutely gorgeous, what a beautiful job you did on it. Also, I like the pictures of your Father and his Brother in the Bel-Air. Family is always cool and brings back memories of some of my family too. Thank you for sharing this with us. Jeff
