extmcdriver Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hey guys, here is my attempt at making a mid 70's Diamond Reo cab over. This build was based on the AMT Kenworth cab over. A little scratch building here and there to make this work. This was more challenge than I expected but, as always a lot of fun. Thanks for viewing and thanks to all for your comments!!!!!

72 Charger Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Wow that's cool I never know there was a DR coe...! Did you have to do much to convert it from the KW
Jim B Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 As a matter of fact, they did. It was called the Royale. I think they used the same cab as the Peterbilt 352, but I'm not sure.http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/diamond_reo/diamond-reo-royale/
mistermodel Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Jim,they were DR cabs.I read that T-line ,the company that has all the DR stuff now is making the royal cab over again for export to Africa.Pretty sure the did a limited edition DR raider just recently also
mistermodel Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks for the comments! great work.what headlight buckets did you use?
extmcdriver Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Kevin,The headlight buckets are from the GMC General. They looked like the closest match to me.
Peterbilt359 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Man what a build. Sorry it took 4 years to respond but I’m back to model building after a very long hiatus. I wish you could do a YouTube tutorial on your technique to get that paint scheme as I’m doing a couple of my rigs in that scheme just don’t know where to start. Mike
extmcdriver Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 Thanks for the comments Mike. I have not posted anything in a very long time, time for me to get busy again!
The Brush Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 This is looking great. I built a Royale 2 some years back ,must dig out the pics.
