Greetings everyone!  I'm a new member who lives in central Texas.  I've primarily been an aircraft modeler for the past 30 years or so, all in 1/48 scale.  While still involved in that, I've recently become interested in my first love in models, automobiles, specifically racing cars.  In high school, I built scratch-built several funny car chassis from plastic Pick Up Sticks and card stock, and loved drag racing cars in general.  That interest waned as real cars took their place.

Over the previous weekend, I bought two of the Fernando Pinto 1/24 resin car kits; the Auto Union C Type (1936) and the 1954 Ferrari 340/375Carrera Panamericana car raced by Phil Hill and Richie Ginther.  They will be my first experience with resin kits.  I'm sure I'll be seeking advice and guidance for those around here!   The last car model I built was the Monogram Bugatti 35C back in 1976.  That model was subsequently destroyed by my toddler daughter around 1982.  I bought another one of those from a seller in the UK yesterday.  I will be retiring from my teaching job in a few months and look forward to having more time for building!

Here's a pic of my last finished aircraft.   It's the Tamiya F4-D Skyray:

Nice work Gary, welcome

Thanks Dan!  I appreciate it.  :)

Welcome Gary..!

Thanks to you as well Mark.  I'm hoping the four auto model kits I've ordered arrive soon.  I'm anxious to look them over and get started.

Welcome Gary.

Thanks Jim!

LOL... I am anxious to build all the time.

The anxiety builds as I start air brushing usually.  "alright, now, don't mess it up!"  :)
