High octane Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Lookin' real good Matt, as my dad had a new '57 Fairlane back-in-the-day. I'm currently workin' on the '57 Ford Custom, and building it as a "gasser."
Misha Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Good looking paint and foil job Matthew! Always interesting to see other builder's workbenches too. I do have a question, what do you use the pop rivet for? Always great to get another tip.Cheers Misha
OldNYJim Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Looks GREAT so far! Cant wait to see more - very clean and nicely done so far
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Looks really good. Are you going to paint the gold anodized aluminum insert on the side spears or are you using gold foil?
mod3l Lover Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Matt, That is looking real good! I look forward to watching this build. David S.
Mattsteel85 Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 Looks really good. Are you going to paint the gold anodized aluminum insert on the side spears or are you using gold foil?not sure what I'm going to do... I do ha e gold foil but think I mak try painting it
mredjr Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Good job so far on not such a great kit. The tire look good what are they out of?
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Looking really nice Matt!Have you ever used Alclad paints? The gold anodized trim can be replicated very nicely with a mixture of Alclad "Pale Gold" & "Polished Aluminum".Might be a little late for that at this point though.Probably would have been better to try that before the foil was applied.Personally, I think it looks just fine as is!Keep up the good work. It'll be a beauty when it's done! Steve
Mattsteel85 Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 I'm still a noob at this whole thing! I built a few with my dad as a kid...still no expert! This was my first 2tone paint job and I have a few overspray marks where the tape wasn't tight enough but I'm happy with the foil job and how well the doors fit!
