JTalmage Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) JUST finished this one last night. Still have a few small decals to apply (center caps/axles/fender rubber marks/contingency decals) Car is painted w/ Tamiya Mica Silver with Tamiya Metallic Orange over top and Tamiya clear. I did very minimal polishing to it. VERY minimal. Didnt wanna rub any color off the trim or spoiler on accident. M.A.D. Resin pre-wired distributor and MSD box. Custom license plate by me No underhood pics for some reason... but they'll be posted. I really liked this kit. Only complains are how the finished chassis fits into the body. I shaved the chassis plate down behind the rear wheel tubs considerably to get it in the body... And the other thing is, you practically have to install the headlight buckets AFTER the finished chassis is in the body... because when you push them in there where you think they look good, and glue them in place, the chassis will push them right back out. Also if you plan on putting the 5.0 decals on... shave the molded in emblems off... because they're NOT the same size... if you look close you'll see. More pics coming soon! Let me know what you think! Edited March 11, 2016 by JTalmage
Pete L. Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 JT, Super job, great color and finish. A really clean build !!! Pete L.
slusher Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Beautiful Mustang. Very clean and killer stance...
JTalmage Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) Here's some more pics! Engine bay is finished and the decals have been applied. I've added a piece of wire to look like a wiring harness coming out of the firewall, also I cut little pieces of styrene strips painted blue, and glued them to the intake to simulate injectors, and used a small paperclip bent in a fashion to look like a fuel rail. Also added an MSD box to the fenderwell. Coil wire from distributor goes outside the engine bay to simulate a mostly tucked/hidden wiring harness/coil. Also added another wire off the throttlebody to simulate a throttle cable. Edited March 11, 2016 by JTalmage
High octane Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Really nice build on the Stang Jesse, and an excellent color choice as well. My current project sports that color as well.
JTalmage Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Thanks, its a great color. You can make it as light or as dark as you want it seems. I'm already thinking of another Mustang build similar to this but with a wild paint job.
JTalmage Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Thanks! Your parts definitely help make things better
shoopdog Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 That's just down right awesome. Your attention to detail is superb !
Hubert Rollins Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 That's nice- super sharp and ready for the strip- love the rubber from the tires, the color and the slick, slick paint.
Canso65 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Great detail under the hood and nice smooth paint. I like the color!
vintagercr Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Looks great and I like the rubber behind the rear tires
