Furiousgeorge Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Great build! A few questions if I may: 1. What colour and paint were used for the engine block?2. Same question for the oil filter.3. How did you do the windshield washer reservoir? It looks absolutely real. Thanks! The engine is Testors orange (in the square 1/4 oz bottle), the filter is the same.the washer bottle was done with a coat of flat white, then regular white (both Tamiya acrylic).
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I love it!Especially the color!A nice change from the "usual". Steve
kevjoh Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 A trick to lowering the front suspension is to use the torsion bar k member from the Superbird kit. The wheel stub from the Superbird sits up near the top of the stub axle which then lowers the front suspension, always though the front suspension on this kit sits to high
showrods Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Thanks! The filter that I'm looking at looks as if it's some sort of army green. It looks very close to the colour of filters used on the assembly line builds of 426 Hemi Superbirds. I'm doing up the Monogram Superbird and that's the colour that I want to use. By "regular white" Tamiya, do you mean gloss? Thanks.

To the front passenger side of the air filter? If so, that's Tamiya dark yellow acrylic. The white is just X-2 Tamiya acrylic white.

DumpyDan Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Nice work, really like the gold turned out great
slusher Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Super sharp model. What ever is in the air will get blown down with your paint. When I come in from outside painting i turn the air or heat off for 30 to 45 min to let the paint tack up...
Mercelo Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 That's a great looking Bee, l really like the color...very different but, suits the car well. All around super clean build.

Furiousgeorge Posted March 27, 2016 Author Posted March 27, 2016 Thanks for all the comments guys, means a lot! Like I'd said, I built this car for a local contest that went over Friday and Saturday. Not huge, there was about ten or eleven tables. A few tables were for military and oddball scaled stuff, but the bulk were 1/24 and 1/25 automotive. I won a trophy with this car for best box stock! The kids went nuts! A great experience that hopefully I can expand upon next year. I'll get a picture of it up as soon as I get a chance.
