Tonight was the Milwaukee NNL 24. I saw Dr. Kerry's entries, but not the Doc.

There were 680 entries. They are shooting for 1,000 next year on the 25th anniversary of the event.

The theme was the 100th Indy 500 race.

The Al Kulwicki award for best stock car went to the #2 Norm Nelson Plymouth.

Best paint went to the yellow Frantic Ford Mustang, I believe.

Best club display went to Plastic Heads for Mel's Diner.

Best Indy car went to a group of 1/43 scale Indy cars.

People's Choice went to the 962 C Porsche. The owner came all the way from Puerto Rico for the contest. It was also 1/43 scale

My pics can be seen here.

Congrats on a successful show!  You are at 25, NNL East is hitting 30 and I believe NNL Nationals are at around 35.... man we've been at this a long time! :D

It seems like just yesterday at our club meeting someone said, "How about we have a little show?"

I have to comment that the Ferrari driven by Nikki Lauda is 1/43 scale. Look at the amazing detail work that was put into that model

Nice show, I did get to talk to Kerry Ingram and put face to the name. I printed the decals for his Social Circumcision rod.

The venue seems small and space is at a premium. Maybe the check in could be done outside the room where the models are to free up some more space for tables for models. The juniors table was packed as were a few others. Maybe staff could assist with arranging cars on the tables to provide more room. Not sure the PA and music system is warranted as it takes up space and is rather noisy in an already small noisy room.

I think this NNL has outgrown its space, especially if they plan on 400 more cars next year.

Don't get me wrong, we had fun and met some fellow modelers...just providing constructive critique for next years event.

Mrindy77, is this the first time you've been to the Milwaukee NNL, or no? I've been going for more than 15 years now and there's still plenty of space for next years show to add 300 more models. If the PA system is too noisy for you, you could've asked the DJ to quite it a notch. As far as helping to arrange the cars on the tables, I believe that most modelers want to do it themselves without any other help.

I have attended the show on and off over the past 10 or so years. I agree that some of the tables were not filled...the Indy theme and race cars tables probably some others had more space and some like stock were over flowing. The junior table was packed and bled into the misc section. I'm just reiterating what I talked to others about and agreed with. I'm not complaining just critiquing on things that would perhaps enhance the show experience. I know modelers like to arrange their own works but when I have to move someone else models to make room for mine, I'm not sure that's what they want me doing and actually my scenario was my son had 2 cars on the junior table and he came to get me and said there was no space on the table. I also attend MN NNL and it is a very spacious venue with  a lot of table space, vendors, make and take for juniors and your not bumping into everyone...maybe that's me and my clumsical nature.

Anyway we had a good time.

I guess the People's choice award was the Tameo Ferrari 312T...

Cool - did anyone else get photos of the stock class? Wish I could have gone.

It will be on April 8th, 2017 next year, so put that date aside and let nothing get in the way of you attending next year. That's what I do and it works. You'll be glad you did. One year I even cancelled a trip to Buffalo because it would interfere with me attending the Milwaukee NNL .
