Petetrucker07 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Doris Roberts passed away today, she was 90. Very funny lady. Loved her in, Everybody Loves Raymond.
Joe Handley Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I heard that a while ago, didn't realize she was 90 though until I saw that upon hearing of her death.
Snake45 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Never watched ELR but I know who she is--she was a staple of network TV for several decades. I had no idea she was 90!
Harry P. Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Wow, I did not hear this. Sad. I love ELR... IMO one of the classic sitcoms of all time. I still DVR it every now and then, even though I've seen every episode at least 2-3 times. Very funny show, was well written... and as far as my own personal life goes, I could totally relate! I also have three kids, had pesky in-laws... even have a brother who's taller than me!
Snake45 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 even have a brother who's taller than me! Didn't you recently tell us you were like six-five or something, or am I thinking of someone else?

Harry P. Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Didn't you recently tell us you were like six-five or something, or am I thinking of someone else? I'm 6' 7". And yes, I have a brother who is taller than me. By an inch.
Snake45 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm 6' 7". And yes, I have a brother who is taller than me. By an inch. I was thinking six-seven, but then thought if you had a TALLER brother, that couldn't be right! When my kid was in high school, we had a German exchange student for a couple weeks. He was six five at 16. He was quite adept at ducking his head every time he approached any kind of doorway. Did it without thinking about it, just like you'd put one foot in front of the other. And OMG that kid could eat! He would eat anything you put in front of him, and all of it you could provide, even if he'd just come home from a big banquet! The Lovely Mrs. Snake was having to make DAILY trips to the grocery store to keep him fed! Hella nice kid, though. Hey, just remembered I have a pic of him loaded up on PB.
Harry P. Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 A standard doorway is 6'8"... so I don't have to duck!
Snake45 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 A standard doorway is 6'8"... so I don't have to duck! Just measured some of mine. You're right. All I can tell you is that Felix had to duck his head going through our doors. Or he DID, anyway, whether he HAD to or not...maybe doorways are lower in Germany....
slusher Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I always enjoyed Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle when they would go at each other. A truly great show. Peter died back in 2006 at age 71
