sjordan2 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 (edited) Momogram 1/8 scale Jaguar XKE. I got it as a Christmas gift when I was a kid... my dad and I built it (ok, mostly my dad!)... great memories and a fantastic kit. My Holy Grail kit is the original Imai / Bandai 1:8 E-Type. Unlike the Monogram / Revell versions, it has an opening rear hatch and no lower body seams, according to builders. Super expensive these days, and frankly, Unobtanium. 1972coronet Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I can't think of a more troublefree build than [ the Monogram 1970 Mustang BOSS 429 ] was. The Monogram '70 GTX and Superbird were also completely painless. Great easy builds, but not my very favorite subject matter.I thought of another one that would make my Top Five: JoHan '69 Road Runner. Loved it as a kid, looking forward to doing at least a couple more of them. I used to joke that I could build that Monogram BOSS 429 in my sleep ! The 1970 GTX was right there , too . The JoHan stuff was in its 1980's "U.S.A. Oldies" stage by the time I found the first one (at a toy store in El Monte and at the La Habra Fashion Square) . While I liked the subject matter (still do !) I found their flash-riddled kits to be a burden for my skill level at that time . I'm telling you ; hindsight is 5150 !
Canso65 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 One of my favourite kits is the Revell 1967 Coronet.

Just for you Ace, my original built in 1969, now looking like a barn find. Looks like it's about due for another good cleaning....

62rebel Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 AMT's '49 and '50 Ford coupe and convertible, and their '53 F-100... I must have two dozen of the cars in various styles, stock included, and several of the F-100 in various configurations; the last two builds have been full-on customs. I need to get the "Showboat" issue to do another "Sportsman" concept car.... I also like the '66 Galaxie kit, although it has some fit issues due to it's age. JoHan's SC/Rambler was one of my favorite kits as well; even with incorrect details. I never had much love for Monogram except the '41 Continental and '40 Ford pickup. Revell... the only kit I really LIKE from them is the Stone/Woods/Cook Willys. I've built several Tamiya and Fujimi kits but not enough to claim a "favorite".
ChrisBcritter Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 AMT '63 Nova wagon, followed closely by the AMT '57 Ford.
花火 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 This one. I have new one to build better someday. wow this is a great kit.
socal76 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Favorite kit would have to be the Revell 69 Camaro. Has to be since I have projects (all Stalled) to do 17 different ones! All the kits and almost all the resin pieces needed. Still have to get about 4 resin hoods if I recall.
