bobthehobbyguy
Krylon makes a maxx clear matt and gloss. You'd have to do a spoon test to see if you need primer.

Snake45
I've found that some Krylon paints are fine, others eat plastic. Test it on something like the topside of the chassis or underside of the interior of the actual kit you want to use it on.I've found that plastic spoons aren't a 100% indicator of what paint will do on kit parts. Notice that plastic spoons are usually more brittle than typical kit parts.
Jantrix
If you are painting a body, your best bet it to prime 100% of the time. Primer is the acid test on body prep because any flaw you missed will be perfectly visible under primer. If will also fill minute sanding scratches left over from prep. You should have no trouble with the Krylon Maxx. It seems a decent product.
