Of course I'm kidding but I would like to see someone take one of those '48 Ford woodies, cut the wood side panels out completely and fill them with some fine mesh metal screen for an open-air look where the wind and rain blow right on through.

Lol, you are tempting me!

So back to this one.  Paint going on some of the smaller parts.  Decided to wire engine even though no one will ever see it, figured if I was going to that much trouble on the wood I may as well detail the engine.  Haven't decided on the interior yet, thinking about some patterns for the seats.

Nothing much happening with this one lately. My guys just can't seem to get going on this build.  It's like they're frozen in time.

Well, I finally did get back on this build to start off the new year 2019. Wow where did it go? If I can still remember how to do the forum I will post some pictures.

Seem to have lost some of the decal sheet, imagine that!  It’s only been about three and a half years on this build maybe. I get distracted. A few more photos then back to work. I can’t seem to find the interior shot I thought I had, too bad about that! I covered the seats with cloth and made floor mats and added some vintage magazines oh well ? that’s all I’ve got.

Great to see you got these done!  Never, ever give up!  I'm a big fan of woodies and it is amazing how different they look just with a change of colour.  Nice work!

Cheers

Your 48 is looking great! I love the Pacific Blue. Keep it up. I have this one to finish soon. I started it in 2017.  I also cut out the wood and inserted real wood panels. Not an easy job but it adds to the detail.

Thanks guys! About to wrap the Woody up today. Maybe some more photos tomorrow outdoors. Here are a few. Still thinking about maybe a roof rack for a surf board and a little more lite patina.

A couple more photos I found. I was amazed at how nice the headliner wood came out, with just Testors yellow and a brown craft paint wash. The seat material has some texture it’s all I had around that day. Fairly happy with the results.E983CDC2-DBA9-49BF-A026-4C6AA6FBB5AC.thumb.jpeg.1c2f32461aef2305fa04cb565e41e60e.jpegi

Thanks again to all you guys with your kind comments! A special thanks to all who followed the build with such patience! Lol I Know!  I have taken up to 20 years on a build in the past. This one originally was only going to be a week on the two models. Sorry for any disappointments. Had to be finished so I can move on. I kind of decided not to start any more new ones until I get caught up. We will see how that goes. Happy modeling!
