Joe... Thank you. I think I took your other post wrong and though it was about me with the sob story. I apologize for taking the wrong way. I know exactly what you mean when it comes to someones personal problems. I mean I can be understanding and all but at a certain point who ever owns the business if they can't get things sent out in a timely matter because of such issues then as you said shut things down for a while, get your Crapola straightened out and then reopen when you can fulfill orders in a timely matter.

I have heard that he has done similar in the past where he will just stop talking to anyone for no reason, maybe in a funk and no one knows why. You are right that I basically had enough waiting around and that's why I contacted him saying get me my engines or send me my money back because I have been planning 2 builds that need these and I needed the engine first to get the chassis designed correctly to fit the engine. 

Nah you didn't come across as an A-hole, I probably sound like one with me complaining about things. Such is life right. Sometimes we just need to speak up. I know what I ordered. As I said before I didn't expect anything and figure it all is a loss at this point.

Well fellas....I wanted to give an update on the status of things.  It's been 2 weeks now since my last email to Mark. To which he still hasn't responded to my email that I sent him back on July 11th. I don't get why people just can't communicate and act like an adult and a man. At this point any response would be nice even if it's to give me the middle finger and tell me I am not sending your engines. At this point I am not expecting anything from him and feel that he is basically telling me to F off since there has been no response which is frustrating. Oh well such is life.

That's one out of the approximately 3,800 who have viewed this thread and possibly alerted folks in other auto modeling fora about this guy's unethical business practices. That could reach an additional 2-5,000 people who could have been potential suc.....customers. Chris most likely lost $125. Mark Johnson lost his reputation and whatever was left of his business because he will be treated like a pariah in the modeling community. He'll never make another dime. I'm doing my part to spread the word about him.

Tom... Answer this question for me. How would you feel if you were in my shoes and this happened to you?? Be completely honest with me. I honestly think that you and anyone else would be frustrated as well at this point. waiting as long as I have to get product that was ordered and didn't receive it yet. I have been way more than patient on getting what I ordered. I don't know about you but I work hard for the money I earn, maybe what I spend on these engines is pocket change for you. As far as you saying I have been criticizing this guy in every way, I think there have been others that have things way harsher than me.... I have shared what I have experienced with everyone. As you have said this is a public forum and others can see but what is wrong with me saying that I hope he does the right thing and get me the product I purchased from him?? I sent him money for product that has never been delivered. Would you prefer if I was to take my posts down? You are probably right that there are people this forum that live for Drama. I am not one of those people, I am not here to cause any Drama or any BS. In all Honesty, all I was hoping for was that He would have the courtesy to respond to my email. If he doesn't want to send me the engines then tell me so or if he does great. I have been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he has send the engines out, maybe not. I haven't a clue if he has or not. Communication is the Key and that's all I want, let me know either way. When someone doesn't want to respond when trying to iron things out, it feels like its a slap in the face. As I have stated at this point I don't expect anything and I know I am out of the money.

During the whole time on my Funny Car thread every since I bought my first engine from him. I have been promoting his product to people when people ask me where I got the engine. A lot had asked via PM so no one would know about it. To this day I will still say that his engines are the best in the resin industry. I would more than happy at that point when/if I receive the engines I will come back here and say "Hey Mark is a stand up guy and got me the engines I ordered 3 years ago." Tell me who are these instigators you are speaking of?? As you say they will let him know and he will never respond again. So Be it that will just show his true colors then. I have already chalked it up as a loss unless I am proven wrong.

i think the OP boned himself by trying to do the right thing and wait it out. nothing more to lose at this point but to make others aware of the bad deal. maybe the lesson to be learned is keep records and act in a timely manner.

Tom, what makes you think that Chris had any better chance of getting his stuff now as opposed to even last year? Or two years ago? Johnson obviously had no intention of sending any goods that Chris, or anyone else for that matter, paid for.  Attempting to resolve the situation via private correspondence during the last three years yielded no positive results because Johnson lacked the common courtesy to even respond in kind. Then, there  was Johnson's April 28th post on the "Dedicated to the preservation of building 1/16 drag racing models" Facebook page:

Unfortunately, as of April, 27, 2016 I am suspending my resin operations and WILL NOT take any new orders until further notice. Any orders that have been made prior to the above mentioned date will be honored as long as I can prove the date of the order.

"....as long as I can prove the date of the order." How about that?  Any reasonable person reading that would think that an order placed, and paid for, three years ago should have top priority. An honest vendor would have ensured that this was the case. An honest vendor wouldn't have allowed this situation to have transpired in the first place. Mark Johnson is neither an honest vendor nor an honorable person. If he actually meant what he wrote in that FB post, Chris wouldn't have posted anything here. As a matter of fact, the first mention in this thread of Chris' dilemma wasn't made until July 7th; and, that was done by another member who was familiar with the situation. The period between April 28th and July 7th was more than enough time for Johnson to make things right by sending Chris his order. Any honest vendor would have gone to great pains to preserve and maintain his good reputation. Johnson's actions, or lack of, show that he is not honest and is devoid of any semblance of personal integrity.

Tom.... First off... I am not the original poster of this thread. Cobraman started this thread. Second... it has been 3 years that I ordered these engines. I realized a while back prior to this thread being started that I was never going to get the product and figured it is not going to hurt at all to share my experience . I wanted to post my experience in hopes no one else has to experience what I have. Third... I had shared my experience with a friend and he encouraged me that I should post what has happened to me. If you go and look at the first page of this thread you will see that I what I posted that I didn't name any names.

Tommy ... no he doesn't have a website. It was all by word of mouth and email. He has a list that he would email with his products.

Spike.... although I am not the OP of this thread but you were right that I have been trying to wait it out and at this point I had nothing to lose by posting my experience. I had to learn the hard way since I miss placed my money order receipt it taught me to scan all of my moving Trans action and keep copies for my records. I can only blame myself for misplacing thr receipt.

Joe... thank you for the support. In one of the emails between me and mark he told me that he posted that  he wasn't taking anymore orders and stepping away from the resin business for a while and I told him.that I have been off of facebook for about 2 years and I didn't have a clue that he posted that back in april. How would  I even know not being on facebook I did have a friend tell me about it and I was able to look up the dedicated page by googling it and since it was an open group I was able to see it with out a Facebook account  a clouple months ago and saw where he posted that. So at that point I figured I was never going to get my stuff.

Mooneyzs, you can second that as I truly appreciate and agree with any and all information on a scam artist and that is what I think of when I hear about someone not getting what they have paid for. I am 1000% in agreement with everything that you have stated and you are totally in the right with me. I appreciate anyone who posts there bad experience with buying or doing business with a business, company or a person who does not live up to there end of the deal as it will save a lot of good people a ton of grief.   Thank you.    Jeff

Has any body tryed to call him? He does have a phone number, I talked to him about a month ago and ordered a BBC and he told me he would contact me when he is done and send the money order. I try not to do buisness with anybody if I cant talk to them, it make me feel like they want my buisness if I can talk to them. I hope everybody get what they ordered. Good luck. Rick

Hello Fellas... So I wanted to keep you all posted and to let you know that Mark Johnson came thru and got me my engines. After I didn't hear from him for over 2 weeks he got a hold of me last Thursday asking a few questions regarding some pics and wanted to find out a couple details about a few components on the car these are for. Then to my surprise on Friday I get another email from him saying that he got my engines done and he wanted to verify my address, and if I got back to him before a certain time he would be able to get them out that day. So I replied and I received the engines on Monday. It's been a busy week at work and haven't been able to post about them until now. I send him and email thanking him and letting him know that they showed up the day I got them. I am thankful and appreciative that he got me the engines I have been waiting for.

You know it goes both ways. 

I have been contacted by several people (many through this forum, if that matters) who wanted copies of parts that I had made.   And more times than I care to mention they flaked out despite adamantly and requesting (begging) that I cast for them.  I don't cast as a business, but thought I'd try to help out other builders.

So I can understand why a caster might want to wait until they have the check before investing their time for naught.  That does not excuse extremely long wait times either.

Ya'll can thank Hunterman38 on this forum for my refusal to deal with anyone I have not dealt with before.
