That's that flathead-powered '67 Camaro that guy raced back in the day. I think we've discussed it here before.

Reminds me of a '67 Camaro I saw sold on an the Mecum auction show last night.

It had the RS package with a 6 cylinder engine.

Uh.......why?

Why not? The RS was an appearance-only package--basically, the hidden headlights and a few other pieces of candy. The RS package had no engine or suspension improvements of any kind.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but a 6 banger in a Camaro seems like a real waste of time.

The announcers on the show seemed to think it was a real rarity.

I remember a first-gen Hemi in a '68 or '69 Chevelle. It was featured in the Reader's Rides section of Hot Rod many years back. As a fan of oddball engine swaps, I naturally dug it.

Cheaper insurance...for someone back then, that probably meant the difference between owning a Camaro and not owning one.

The sixes are rarer now, because back when those were just used cars, they'd be converted to V8 power when a V8 car got wrecked or beat to death by someone.
