AMT TIRE PACKS

DOES ANYONE HAS THE AMT GOODYEAR POLYGLASS GT TIRE PACK?

JUST CURIOUS HOW THEY ARE & FIT

The quality, as far as I'm concerned, is excellent, far better than the tractor tires found in many kits. As to fit, I suppose it depends on what you try to fit them to.

The AMT tires are hollow, so you will need to use wheel halves with an outer lip on them.  A lot of annual kit wheel covers will just slip through the center hole.  Both sizes of this tire are included in a number of Round 2 kits.

the box contains 4 F60 - 15 and 4 L60 - 15, AMT 15" wheels fit these tires. I haven't found any AMT wheels in 15" that won't fit these tires, so far. Other wheels may have to be modified to fit. IMHO, one of the BEST products to hit the market in a long, long time........'Z'

I have a set mounted on the Rallye wheels out of the Revell 1970 Cuda kit. Fits perfect. Going on a Johan Superbird build I have going

 

Nice part about them , is one side of the tire has the tire size in a white letter, the other side doesn't

I'D LIKE TO USE THESE ON THE REVELL '70 GSX KIT, BUT I DON'T THINK THE WHEELS WILL FIT. ARE THE BUICK WHEELS CONSIDERED A MAGNUM 500 WITH A BUICK CENTER CAP?

I think any 1/25 tires are going to look small on the Monogram GSX, which is 1/24. That thing needs a pretty big (tall) tire to look good.

And  I don't think the GSX wheels are Mag 500s--the spokes look thinner. I think they're a Buick exclusive wheel, though they might also have been made by Motor Wheel Corp, who knows.

I think any 1/25 tires are going to look small on the Monogram GSX, which is 1/24. That thing needs a pretty big (tall) tire to look good.

And  I don't think the GSX wheels are Mag 500s--the spokes look thinner. I think they're a Buick exclusive wheel, though they might also have been made by Motor Wheel Corp, who knows.

YUP, I DIDN'T NOTICE IT WAS 1/24. MAYBE THE L60'S WILL LOOK OK.

THE WHEELS IN THE KIT HAVE NO LIP ON THEM, MAYBE I COULD STICK THEM IN THE DRILL & CUT THEM DOWN A BIT

Have used several sets and have never been disappointed. It may be a personal problem on my part since I'm not the neatest builder you ever meet. But the lettering is delicate enough that I have started giving the tires a light coating of semi or flat clear before I start handling them very much. If any trace of glue gets near the lettering it will come loose.

I found a set of these in my stash last night--didn't realize I had them.  Don't remember when or where I bought them, maybe at the local toy show a few months ago.

The printing quality is excellent, but I was a bit disappointed in the size. IMHO the Fs are too small to look good on anything but a 1/25 ponycar or compact--I think they'll look way too small on even a 1/25 midsize car, much less anything in 1/24.

I'll probably end up using them in big n little pairs on some Camaros, early Mustangs, or early Novas.

I wish the solid Goodyear "wide ovals" in the MPC '68 annuals were available somewhere. I'd also love to have a bunch of the hollow vinyl Firestones first seen in the MPC Mako Shark and original issue Monkeemobile. Remember when MPC sold these for 50 cents a set? I wish I'd bought about $10 worth of them. (Of course $10 was a LOT of money in those days--it would have bought five typical car kits.)

Quite right Snake. Only Buick used those wheels. They do look very much alike though. 

The difference is the spokes on the Buick wheel are concave while the Magnums are convex.
