Jurva Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 This AMT kit started when I found these jewel things, that looked very much leafspring shackles. So this car was deemed to have its rear end lifted way up. That of course meant finding some big rear tyres. They are Fujimis with widened steels rims. Front wheels are some lowrider tyres. Otherwise pretty much "stock" build.
Foxer Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 This is a great looking model, all due to your little touches and choices!
Jantrix Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I really like the personal touches on this model. It's not stuff most people would do to a model, or even think to, but that's why I like it. Nice job.
bismarck Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I like it!! Always have liked the lines of that body style of Fairlane.
Drake69 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 You're a bad influence. I'm getting some NASTY ideas here.
John Goschke Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Really well done model! Great representation of the classic "stinkbug stance." Those shackles had to be one of the more ridiculous modification fads of the late '60s-'70s. Cars like this were everywhere, but my favorite example is this '73 Fury featured in a crazy sequence in the movie "Thunderbolt & Lightfoot."
Jurva Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 Nice photo you added John. Haven't seen that movie. I'll add picture of those shackles I found later.
Tyler62990 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Very cool build. I'm liking the grime under the hood and that suspension is awesome
Jurva Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 Here is the shackles. They could almost be used as exhaust manifold flanges too.
6bblbird Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 A time machine back to the seventies! I love it!WF
Petetrucker07 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Gotta love them shackled up early hot rods. Looks great.
