tyrone Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) What's up fellas... I started a new build a few weeks ago.. I'm having a brain fart choosing a color for the LX Mustang build so I started on this one in the mean time,,, this is an older build I did some years ago. It was painted black so I stripped the paint and started building... the first order of business was to stretch the rear fender wells to accommodate the big slicks..I added a piece of .020 flat styrene to fill in the gap.. tyrone Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 I got the cage done, and opened and hinged the doors, made rear wing from styrene...
tyrone Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 Next I made some wheelie bars, and used photo etched brackets for the wheels.. I also rounded off the rear slicks to look more like the real slicks, and hit them with some dullcote..
tyrone Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 Next I got the chassis painted and applied some carbon fiber decals to the wheel tubbs..
tyrone Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 Then I made up a set of fender exit headers and added some resin welds and sprayed on different shades of metalizer paints... I also got some clear coat on the chassis...
mikemodeler Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Again, you make it look so easy! I always enjoy looking at your builds, the details and scratchbuilding are so impressive! Not sure what your color scheme is for this one, but after seeing the body in white primer, maybe a white body with some color graphics would look nice? Waiting to see this one done.
futurattraction Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 She's looking great, Tyrone. Your rear wheel wells look awesome, friend... Some super upgrades, for sure.
