Psychographic Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If you're a fan of old racing movies, you might want to call in sick from work on the 14th. http://www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?ecid=subnavmonthschedule
unclescott58 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Long list. What movie are you looking forward to seeing?
Daddyfink Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Would be easier if you just listed what we are supposed to ditch work for.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Looks like everything from 6 AM to 8 PM on the 14th is vintage racing stuff. 1929-1968. Cars, airplanes, motorcycles. Pretty cool.
iamsuperdan Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Forget the racing movies, look at all those horror movies towards the end of the month! That's the best part of October.
Greg Wann Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 You can call and say you have the optical anal flu. That is when you just can't see your sorry ass going to work that day.
Lunajammer Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I love how half the film descriptions begin with "A racing driver..."
Atmobil Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Wow, thats a cool list. Sadly we don't have that TCM here anymore, we have gotten a TCM Nordic that only sends movies made after 2000 or so. It has really lost it's glory latley.

Mike999 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Thanks for the heads-up. If you think you are seeing double/going crazy while watching "Indianapolis Speedway" (1939), you've probably seen the first version of it, "The Crowd Roars" with James Cagney, made in 1932."Speedway" not only re-cycled the script, sometimes with word-for-word dialogue - it also used racing/crash footage from the 1932 movie. It even re-cycled actors! Regis Toomey and Frank McHugh play the same characters in "Indianapolis Speedway" that they played in "The Crowd Roars."See, not much has changed in Hollywood since 1932...
