Check eBay; Micro-Markup is usually at the higher end of the scale when it comes to price.  Someone is probably selling the same thing cheaper; if you luck out, you might even stumble into a used one.

It doesn't look too hard to build, but you'll probably have to buy more material than needed for just one.  So you'll have to spend more on materials than you really need to.  Plus, you'll need some decent tools to build one that will be square and true.  And then, what value do you place on your time?

I dunno...30 bucks seems cheap for something that will give you perfect identical cuts time after time after time.

I mean, what else are you going to spend it on that's THAT useful?    ;)

I picked 1 up at a swap meet years ago and find it very useful fro cutting aluminum tubing and Evergreen.  Only fairly narrow pieces will fit it so the miter box is kept right next to it.

This is a new tube holder at MicroMark that replaced this one that I use all the time. Anything that will hold parts secure for old hands is welcome. It has a hand grip and I usually put the front edge on the bench as I saw.

That new one looks almost as good as the old ..

Yep, I just got it and works wonderfully!

I did clean it up a bit first as some kind of grease is used to preserve/anit-rust the material.
