You are correct that there were a lot of decals used but I believe "Road Runner" was a spelled out emblem on the right side of the trunk.

Bob..you are correct on the hard badging letters on the trunk lid, as seen in this picture of mine below....I thought you were referring to the birds which I understood to be the trademarked items from Warner Brothers......again, other than the IP badging, I believe all the cartoons were tape graphics.  Now...makes me wonder if the road runner letters on the deck are decalized or engraved on the latest release.....TIM 

PS - for anyone building a 1969-74 Road Runner, the old Testors Light Purple spray is a close match for the purple "voice of the Road Runner" beep-beep horn in the engine compartment..TIM

Tim, you were correct. mostly tape graphics. Appears that circled bird on the nose is a tape not an embem. Old kit is wrong.

Tim, great picture of the 1973 Roadrunner. Back in 1978 I tried to chase a 318 Roadrunner on I95 Bangor to Orono, ME with my 302 Torino. No dice. 99mph was all it would do. The Roadrunner got away.

If you ordered a the stripe delete option on the 73/74 you would get a hard nameplate with emblem on the C-Pillar. (in same place as the stripe)  If you ordered a full vinyl top, you would get a hard nameplate and emblem that was pushed lower on the C-pillar and looked kind of awkward.

I was at a LHS yesterday, and the metal box version of this kit was $60!!!!  I haven't looked elsewhere for it, but I won't be getting it at that price!  Yikes!

I got one from Model Roundup for less. Has good decals , correct dash, chassis and exhaust manifolds.

Unfortunately, this kit is the only game in town when it comes to building a '73-4 Plymouth Road Runner. However, it can be made into a very nice model when it is kitbashed with the latest tool AMT '71 Charger.

It took quite a bit of work to get it where I wanted it to go, but it worked out fine. I plan to do a couple more using the same techniques, as well as a '72, and a '71. I may do one up as a Satellite Sebring Plus, using Missing Link Resin's Flat Hood and Wheel Covers.

Am kitbashing a '74 GTX also, any chance of restoring the pics that Photobucket is holding for ransom?

Unfortunately, I do not have the pictures anywhere but Photobucket, and I cannot pay the price they want. 

When I decided to restore a couple of threads I had a lot of time into, I just downloaded relevant pics individually from peebucket and reused them. Took a while but better than nothing

A quick trip to the stash; what I could still get through chryco parts in '86...
