martinfan5 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Here is Revell's C7R , painted with Tamiya Yellow, overall, not happy with it, not happy with window piece causing the body not sit all the way down on the chassis. I had to separate all the windows and even doing that, there is still some fit issues.
Len Woodruff Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Nice Job. I just finished mine yesterday. I will post some pics later.
bbowser Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Window issues don't show in the photos. Great looking model. How did the build go otherwise?
Daddyfink Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Wow, that came out very nice! Stance looks good from what I can see.
Nells250 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Just picked up this kit myself, so it is useful to see one built by someone else! What shade of yellow did you use?
Randy D Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Hi Jonathan, Looks like another fine build from your bench ,don't notice the glass fit issue in the pics. Randy
Harry P. Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 I also don't see anything wrong, judging from the photos. Looks like if the body were any lower the tires would rub on the wheelwells. But that's not seeing the model in real life.
martinfan5 Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) Thank you guys Window issues don't show in the photos. Great looking model. How did the build go otherwise? Other than the issue I had with the windows, build wise, it was fine, had some issues with the black stripe decals, not sure it was just me, but they didnt respond well to SET/SOL being used on them. Just picked up this kit myself, so it is useful to see one built by someone else! What shade of yellow did you use? I used Tamiya Yellow TS-16 Hi Jonathan, Looks like another fine build from your bench ,don't notice the glass fit issue in the pics. Randy Its a one piece window , and part of the fit issue that I could figure was the middle section was to low so that was resting on the top part of the rollbar/rear bulk head. I cut each window free , and that let the body sit down more over the chassis. There was still some a fit issue, but it was better. I am not sure it is something I did wrong, so I am curious as more get built if anyone else has the same issues. I also don't see anything wrong, judging from the photos. Looks like if the body were any lower the tires would rub on the wheelwells. But that's not seeing the model in real life. Correct, the body cant go any lower , I had to glue the body/chassis so the bottom of the chassis would be flushed with the bottom of the body. Ah yes, the low angle of the photos was done on purpose, to hide some of the flaws( not so great decal work on the top part of the body) Edited November 13, 2016 by martinfan5
Nells250 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I see the 2016 Stingray kit from Revell is out... I wonder what the brake rotors look like in THAT kit! Also noticed it is a skill level 4!!
