davysmodels Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Order of choices to have in a resin kit 1 - 1984 Jeep Cherokee 4-door (1984-1988) 2 - Ford LTD LX with parts to make a Ford Fairmount (2 door) 3 - 1971 Dodge Polara
EightyHotRod Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) Honestly the fairmont ltd package is ok by me, the very first car i bought was an 80 mont like the one in the picture, not a cop car though, and I wouldnt want the police xtras with it, base model. Some people would bash me on this but a 95 escort 4 dr notch back and a 92 escort wagon would be right up your ally, for cad and injection molding; nobody has those out. Me Im just getting into casting and am sourcing bodies and part to build my first resin job. I think its a unique idea, and could have a market for crowds of family oriented people or people who have owned non modeled late model cars. Alot of honda, mitusubishi, toyota, and acura owners would love you. Good luck Edited February 18, 2018 by EightyHotRod
Casey Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Looks like the '72 Polara won. https://www.ebay.com/itm/resin-1-25-1-25th-1972-72-Dodge-Monaco-4-Door-sedan-police-w-bonus-Polara-Rare/282929367908?hash=item41dfe78b64:g:fkwAAOSwskha1pNR
NYLIBUD Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 The Jeep Cherokee, The Fairmont. & the Polara. I just don't understand why,not one model company ever made a Cherokee Sport.I own a 2000,they're great trucks. Why doesn't Revell try it already?I finally bought an RC Cherokee, but of course it's just the body. It'll take a bit of time to put together.Ive said this before, but I also would really like to see a 72 Fury NYPD car.The two hide away headlights. Some models didn't have them blacked out.Anyway,I just think those cars would be great if they were ever rereleased.

The interior probably fits too. I'll check when the body is done. While the LTD chassis may very well fit the big Dodge, from a correctness standpoint, it would not be the right one, due to the fact that MOPARs have the torsion bar front suspension. Of course, I'm sure most all of the great model-builders here know this, and it may only matter to the sticklers and rivet counters, HAHAHAHA!!! Pardon me, if this has already been mentioned. I just did a sleepy-eyed scan of this thread! LOL

CapSat 6 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I thought from what I read of the auction was that the Ford interior was being supplied, and a ‘68 Chrysler 300 style chassis? The firewall definitely looks like the one from the ‘68 300 or ‘68 Fury Cop Car. In any case, if it’s the ‘68 300 Chassis, it will be somewhat correct, if very basic. I would think the builder would be better off using the chassis (or two) from a Revell ‘68-‘70 Charger or AMT ‘71 Charger and modifying to suit.
CapSat 6 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Regardless, I would really like one of these. It looks great! I’m hoping for a ‘71 like was mentioned before, preferably so I can make a ‘70 out of if.
2NthreequarterSFPD022 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Every time that the 4dr '71 Polara popped up on eBay, which was several times a few years back, they caused a bidding war that I couldn't compete in... I never came close to getting one of them. Hopefully Modellrob will add them to the "Buy It Now" list of current offerings.
Rob Hall Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Speaking of Polaras, I recently bought a 3d printed '69 Polara 4dr recently, detailed w/ chassis, interior, engine, wheels and tires...from the Andrey Bezrony files--also available in 2dr ht, convertible and wagon. There is one of the 4dr sedans from printer Section 8 Hobbies on eBay currently, this is very nice, the one I bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186803773579?_skw=polara&itmmeta=01JDYS6MPG2RRN73CBSFMBZDC2&hash=item2b7e5f608b:g:JZUAAOSwC7tmvPq9
Wagonmaster110 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I would take a LTD. I would like to see a 1969 Plymouth Fury GT. Then I could do the 69 Plymouth rapid Transit System. Tim 1
Rescued customs Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Xj please God that would be amazing if I could atleast get a body kit at minimum
Mark C. Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The original post is over 8 years old, but my answer would still be the same… Polara!
