primer on blue body

What color primer would you use on a blue molded body that you want to paint white? I do not know if blue is a problem color for bleeding through. It is the Italeri Volvo 780 truck kit and the company truck I am doing is white. I have Tamiya white primer and testors gray.

Silver  than flat white so the blue won`t bleed threw

FWIW, I've never had a bleed thru problem with blue, only the "hot colors" like red, yellow and orange.

I would use grey primer, it covers blue pretty good, and white will apply with ease.

Whenever I'm painting colored plastic bodies I always spray silver, then white primer, and then my color and clear coats. It seems to work just fine for me.

I'd use Walmart gray, then Walmart white (both are very thin and very opaque), and then my white.

I've heard very few if ANY complaints in my life about blue plastic color "bleeding through" white. It's almost always red, orange, or sometimes yellow that give those problems. My theory is that there's something about the wavelength of red light that enables it to penetrate white paint more easily than colors at the other end of the spectrum.

The Testors gray will cover the blue just fine.

I would use a coat of Testors gray for coverage & then white over that for a base.

I've done several kits molded in blue with a similar technique & have never had any bleed through issues.
