Mine might be the Johan 64 Dodge Ramchargers kit. I built it back when it was new, it's still in great shape ( except that the headers have fallen off ) and I even have some of the funny car parts left.

The box:

And the built model, I was about 14 at the time, I used to love to hand letter things.

I don't know how rare the Ramchargers Dodge is, but I know how difficult it is to find an original '64 Polara!

Had my feelers out for one for a while, along with a Johan '64 Fury.

Very few & far between for both of them!

I guess an original MPC '68 Charger would be considered rare these days.

And their Firebird, too.

How about an original first-issue JoHan Maverick promo (molded in Antiestablish Mint Green) that received a Model-Fu beatdown from a rabid 15-year old?

All rare to one degree or another, I'm sure.

But I'll tip my hat to the Maverick.

The only one that hasn't been freshly tooled.

Well, once upon a time I had an excellent collection of old Johans. They were stolen in a military move.

Today, I have these two that were rare AT THE TIME I HAD BUILT THEM. Round 2 has since reissued both.

The white Accord in the foreground is getting hard to find by now. The LS kit in the back is probably rare too, but it is not built so it doesn't count here.

This other one I built some four years ago from a kit I bought at a local show.

Then there is one more that probably is the rarest I have built, and that is a 1/24 Nichimo Skyline. No pics at the moment, I'll see what I can find..

I have a pair of '61 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedans.

I restored both of them to the point that the are ready for paint. One of them is going to be Black, to be a book end to my '61 Lincoln Continental Sedan.

An original Monogram/ Tom Daniel Garbage Truck. Way before the rerelease. I was at a friends house helling him thin his modeling herd. As I was leaving, he said here take this too. "It" was a grocery bag full of miscellany. In with the rest was all of the parts for the Garbage Truck except the roof panel. At that time it was on my grail list.

Remember guys, the original idea of this thread was the rarest "built" kit that was "built by you".

I'm sure that all of us have something rare in the stash, I have tons of them, but what makes the thread interesting is seeing those old kits finished, & seeing the members craftsmanship.

It might not be a bad idea to start another thread for just a general "rarest kit you have", but this thread is designed to narrow things down a bit.
