James2 Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 This time of year it is very difficult to do any spray painting and I spend my hobby time building. With that in mind this will be a Parts Box Jalopy/Rat Rod (I hate that term) Using the front cowl of the model A and the body of a 32 Sedan I came up with this. I have Z'd both ends of the 29 chassis, added a Nascar rear end and a suicide front axle. Power will be a 426 from the Tony Nancy double dragster kit, with a scratch made adapter for 6 single barrel carbs, wheels are left overs from the PB. I will use a fuel tank I found and the front seat from a 32 Ford kit.And anything else I can scrounge up...
espo Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Looks like an interesting project. Unless you are 100% sold on the front wheels/tires, they look a little disproportionately large compared to the rear tires.
exesivefire Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Now this one I REALLY like (not that I don't like the others)
James2 Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Thanks for the comments. Part of the plan for this one is to use a brush paint and weathering techniques for the finishes. I'll be doing some real rust also (Like the 53 Gasser) Here are some more mock up pictures of the assembly...
exesivefire Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Dents, welds, roll bars and chopped tops! These are a few of my favorite things!serously though, character in all the right places. I've been realizing that's some of the things I was missing in my grungy builds. The effort should reward you well in the end. Just the right amount without overdoing it.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I like the body mods. Cool project.
