This year started out very good as I finished this Fiat Topolino Altered in early March. It was built for a Primer CBP on TRaK, where the basic idea was to leave the body, or parts of it in primer finish. So I decided to build something that's a bit lower budget racer with most of the money spent on the engine. I think I captured the Old School look and feel on it pretty good...

...And then that was it, nothing else was finished this year. What might have affected this, is that I spent the first half of 2016 in the Army and now during the second half I've been working with my 1:1 project, '62 Chevy II. All that together with all of the American Car Events in here during the summer, Drag Racing and everything, no wonder that I couldn't finish anything else.

Now I have a couple of projects quite close to finish ('64 Thunderbolt S/S and '55 Bel Air A/GS) but there's no way I could have them done before the year ends. Hopefully I can finish a bit more in 2017 then!

Good luck on the '62 Nova buildup, I have been working on a '62 Nova convertible for several years (currently on hold until I find some key parts and more $$$). Yours looks to be fairly solid and I noticed someone already swapped in a 5 bolt hub rear end.

Love that drag car. Looks really nice. Good luck with the 62. I have had a 96 Mustang GT Vert for 5 years and it is still not 100%. But I am driving it! :)

Great looking Fiat. In my youth I attended many drag racing events in SoCal. and for every shinny painted big sponsored cars there was just as many that looked just like this.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, they are highly appreciated!:)

Building that Fiat was a great fun. Maybe it was because the kit had some good Vintage Speed Parts that most of the newer kits don't have and that was good, as I was shooting for a Vintage look. These are very cool in 1:1 scale too.

That Chevy II is one I think will never be finished, but the plan is to drive with it next summer.:) Currently I'm in the process of turning it from Four Door Sedan to Two Door Sedan and I have already built some mini tubs in it. The starting point was good, someone had already done massive rust repairs on it so I didn't have to do that. And yep, someone has already swapped 5 bolt hubs in it...:P

Thanks Dave!

That was a fun build. When it was done I already started about thinking of buying another Double Dragster kit to build a couple of more Vintage Drag Racers...:D
