Produced by Lindberg many moons ago, I was lucky to pick one up on ebayUK for a song. The kit decals which were only four were in bits in the box, so off to my stash for replacements. The instructions to me were quite comical as it spoke about preparing chrome parts, none of which were in the kit, not one!

I painted the shell Tamiya Metalic Green, the chassis black and various other parts silver. Whilst building up the chassis I found that the two radius rods were too short so made new ones from very small plastic tube. I also opted for the road exhaust of the three available and added alloy tube extensions out back. I also added yellow Dunlop tyre decals to continue a period look.

without the engine cover plus alloy tube for the carb intakes...........

Some of those old Lindberg kits lacked a lot of detail, but as you've shown, they build up into a pretty good looking model with some care! Nice work on this rod. I like the color, and the flame decals look just right for a period hot rod! Very cool!

I had one of these years ago but never actually built it. I think I used it as spares. Pity really, if I came across one now I would build it.

Thanks Sam & Steve. We don't see many if any of this type of kit here in the UK, so you have to grab it while you can! The surprise is that when you open the box the sprues are all bright yellow plastic.

I didn't pay much for this one, but I saw the same kit on ebay here yesterday at £46! Now what's that in dollars now to what it was when it was first released?

Considering what you had to work with it turned out very nice. Lindberg was not a very accurate kit maker in the early years.

Thanks Donald, and thanks David , yes I've only bought a couple of Lindberg kits but both have eede a little work, but I'm very pleased with this one. But anybody buying one, just remember when you put the body on the chassis and look through to the firewall there's no floor between the seat and the firewall!
